Duxsil Arisu

Duxsil hails from the Shadowshore District of Sasserine, and as any young man that can claim such a background might, he once hopped aboard a ship; hungry for adventure. An adventure is just what he got, though not the one he had planned. The ship he was aboard was sailing near the Isle of Dread when it was sunk by the Dragon Turtle Emraag. Duxsil managed to escape being devoured along with his ship-mates, only to be rescued by the fearsome pirates of the Crimson Fleet, who soon put his "wizardly talents" to work for them. To show their 'appreciation' for his skills, his pirate-captors gave him one of their best brig cells as his personal accommodation, where he remained a prisoner aboard the Stygian Shark until its capture at the Battle of Farshore. There Duxsil was granted his freedom by the defenders of Farshore.

Once free to choose, he decided to tag along with with Viselys and party on their way to negotiate with Emraag. Although Duxsil agreed to Viselys' terms of not seeking revenge against the creature, he secretly hoped that the beast would refuse negotiation. Then any battle with the creature would be seen as defensive and necessary. When the delegation struck a bargain with the charmed beast, he considered - just for the briefest of moments - releasing a stray lightning bolt. He thought better of it for the sake of the ship and her passengers, and watched the great beast slip beneath the waves and disappear.

As the newest member of the party, Duxsil is finding that he enjoys their company. Although he is amused by Saris' brazenness and braggadocio, he seems to have have the most in common with (not to mention an attraction to) Liamae. He has found himself most fascinated by Viselys. He is alternately annoyed by Viselys' irritating and pointless "honor code" and his self-importance, but awed by his selflessness and combat expertise. Despite the memory of his brief and unpleasant run-in with Viselys, when he was but a junior guardsman back in Sasserine, Duxsil is finding himself growing to respect him, though he would deny it if asked.

Duxsil is proving himself to be quite valuable to the party through the use of his wizard skills. He takes some pleasure in conjuring for the benefit of his new-found friends, and tries to provide small comforts where he can. His secret fear is that his present situation is temporary, and that he will succumb once again to the evil behind those that once held him captive. He wards himself against capture as best he can, for fear that his next captors may be far worse than vicious pirates.

Duxsil has long been fascinated by the branch of magic known as Chronomancy. He has undertaken much arcane research in this area, as has Godrenn; his fellow mage and loyal apprentice.
