Incubus (3.5e Race)

Physical Description

An incubus in his true form is always muscular and attractive, with long hair and intense eyes. His skin can be of any color, but is always smooth and silky. When not using his wings for flight, an incubus can fold them to drape across its shoulders like a cloak—many decorate both the inside and outside of their wings with tattoos, ink, or self-inflicted scars. Incubi stand between 6 and 6-1/2 feet tall and typically weigh 200 pounds.
When not in battle, incubi serve as counselors, torturers, and companions for greater demons. They are also often conjured for similar roles by mortal spellcasters, although care must be taken in dalliances with incubi, for they delight in causing pain to their companions.
Like succubi, incubi form from the chaotic evil souls of particularly lustful and rapacious mortals. Yet whereas succubi are subtle and methodical about using their charms to cause ruin, the typical incubus is forthright and forceful about his insatiable desires

Racial Traits

  • +4 Charisma, +2 Strength:
  • Monstrous Humanoid (Demon): Once a demon, always a demon - the horns, tail and wings of a succubus reduces the availability of suitable armour.
  • Medium: Incubi gain no advantages or disadvantages due to size.
  • The Incubus base land speed is 30 feet. Succubus air speed is 60ft, good maneuverability.
  • Fiendish Reproduction: Incubi do not breed on their plane of origin. On the material plane, however, mating with a human female can result in a twisted child filled with evil. Delivery of the half-demon child is often fatal (75%), and those that survive have a 90% chance of being rendered sterile.
  • Pain Redoubled (Su): When an incubus confirms a critical hit with a melee weapon or a natural weapon, that attack deals an additional 2d6 points of nonlethal damage and the target must succeed at a DC 19 Fortitude save or be wracked by pain, becoming sickened for 1d6 rounds. Multiple uses of this ability extend the duration. The save DC is Charisma-based.
  • Charm Monster (Sp): A Incubus may use the spell Charm Monster up to twice per day. The DC to resist the effects of Charm Monster is 15 + the incubus’ modifier, and gains a +4 circumstance bonus if the target is female.
  • Cushing Despair (Sp): An Incubus may use the spell Crushing Despair up to twice a day. The DC is 12 + the incubus’ Charisma modifier.
  • Detect Good (Sp): An Incubus may use the spell Detect Good up to twice per day. The DC to resist detection is 12 + the incubus’ Charisma modifier.
  • Detect Thoughts (Sp): An Incubus may use the spell Detect Thoughts up to twice per day. The DC to resist detection is 12 + the incubus’ Charisma modifier.
  • Greater Teleportation (Sp): An Incubus may use the spell Greater Teleport once per day.
  • Change Shape (Su): At First level, an Incubus may change to resemble any Humanoid Medium or Small creature once per day. This increases to two times per day at level twelve, and to three times per day at level sixteen. Changing back into the incubus’ natural form does not count towards the uses. An Incubus’ altered shape lasts indefinitely, even in death.
  • Telepathy (Su): An Incubus may use Telepathy (up to 100ft). He may only project thoughts in languages he can speak.
  • Darkvision up to 60 ft.
  • Immunity to poisons.
  • Flight: Thanks to their wings, Incubi can take to the skies if and when the need arises. They have a flight speed of 60ft, with good maneuverability.
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Abyssal.
  • Level Adjustment: +2
